PULSE Noise Source Identification

Noise Source Identification Type 7752 takes sound intensity measurements from PULSE and post-processes them into a contour map of the surface you are measuring. More than one measuring surface can be defined so you can create an enclosing surface around the object under test. Multi-analysis means that both CPB (1/n-octave) and FFT intensity spectra can be measured simultaneously. This is particularly useful as the CPB contour map gives a good representation of the sound distribution and the FFT spectra helps to quickly locate the sources of annoying pure tones.

Interactive Display Options

Spectra are displayed beside the contour map, and you can select frequency bands of interest in these spectra and the contour map will automatically update to show you a new acoustic map of these frequencies. Alternatively, by selecting an area on the contour map, you can automatically see both the intensity spectra and the sound power radiated over that particular area. Cursor readings can be taken by clicking on the point of interest.

Reporting

The Sound Intensity Mapping Software will automatically print the complete screen below the title bar, giving you the contour map, the spectra, and calculated sound power. Alternatively, you can export data to Excel for further processing, or copy to a Word document to form part of a report.
